An Unusual Rendezvous of Violin, Baritone & Piano

Concert: A Summer Night’s Dream
Sunday 12th June 2011 - concert 7.00pm, doors open 6.30pm

Renowned Anglo-German pianist and conductor Dorian Keilhack hosts a stunning evening in the Great Hall at Berkeley Castle with friend Christian Hilz (Baritone) and Dorian’s wife Beate (Violin).

Dorian is the Resident Conductor at Bern Opera House, but still finds time for engagements all over Europe.

The concert takes place on Sunday 12th June at 7.00pm and the programme includes works by Luis Spohr, César Franck, Robert Schumann, Werner Heider and songs by Gerald Finzi – music infused with a dash of the romantic.

The evening has been organised by Dorian’s family who are based in Little Haresfield. Following a childhood visit to Berkeley Castle where Dorian expressed a great desire to play in the Great Hall – now years later that has become a reality.

About Dorian Keilhack:
Dorian was born in Erlangen in 1967. He started learning the piano aged six and after leaving school he studied piano and conducted in Nuremburg, Freiburg, Paris and New York.

As a pianist Dorian has performed with orchestras including Leipzig Gewandhaus, BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra and Dortmund State Orchestra. From 1999-2005 Dorian was the Artistic Director of the Tyrolean Ensemble for New Music, and from 2005-2008 was the conductor in Erfurt. Since 2008 Dorian has been the Principal Conductor at the Bern Opera House where he has conducted Don Giovanni, Hansel & Gretel and Tosca.
